How to Care for Your Resin Jewellery and Keep It Looking Beautiful for Years
There’s something quietly magical about a piece of resin jewellery. A real flower, caught mid-bloom, suspended in crystal-clear resin, it’s a tiny world preserved in time. But like anything worth keeping, it deserves a little looking after.
The good news? Resin jewellery is far more resilient than it looks. A few simple habits are all it takes to keep your pieces glowing just as beautifully as the day they arrived.

Keep It Away from Water
This is the big one. Resin itself is water-resistant, but prolonged exposure think swimming, long showers, or washing up without taking your ring off can cause the surface to cloud over time. It can also weaken any metal findings or settings the piece is attached to.
Make it a habit to take your resin jewellery off before you get in the water. Your morning shower, the swimming pool, even the kitchen sink these are small moments that add up.
Avoid Heat and Direct Sunlight
Resin doesn’t love heat. Leaving your pieces on a sunny windowsill or in a hot car can cause the resin to yellow slightly or, in more extreme cases, warp. Similarly, hair dryers and straighteners are best kept well away.
Store your jewellery somewhere cool and shaded a jewellery box or a small pouch works perfectly.
Be Gentle with Chemicals
Perfume, hairspray, hand sanitiser, moisturiser these are all part of a normal day, but they’re not kind to resin. The chemicals can dull the surface finish or affect the clarity over time.
A simple rule to follow: jewellery goes on last. Get dressed, do your hair, spritz your perfume then put your pieces on. It takes seconds and makes a real difference.
Clean It the Right Way
When your jewellery needs a clean, keep it simple. A soft, dry cloth the kind you’d use for glasses is all you really need for day-to-day upkeep. If something needs a little more attention, a slightly damp cloth and a gentle wipe will do the job. Avoid anything abrasive. Rough cloths, toothbrushes, or chemical jewellery cleaners can scratch the resin surface and strip away that lovely glassy shine.
Store It Separately
Resin can scratch if it’s thrown in together with other jewellery especially pieces with sharp metal edges or stones. Keeping each piece in its own small pouch or compartment means nothing rubs together and everything stays looking its best.
If you received your jewellery in a MystikFalls box, that’s actually a lovely place to keep it.
Don’t Sleep or Exercise in It
It’s tempting to leave jewellery on round the clock, but sleeping in resin pieces especially rings or earrings puts unnecessary stress on them. Exercise is even harder on jewellery; sweat, friction, and the odd knock can all take their toll.
Take them off, tuck them away safely, and they’ll thank you for it.
A Little Care Goes a Long Way
Resin jewellery isn’t fragile it’s actually surprisingly tough for something that looks so delicate. But the flowers inside these pieces were real, once growing somewhere in the world, and there’s something rather lovely about honouring that by taking care of what they’ve become.
Treat your pieces with a little thought, and they’ll stay as beautiful as the day you first wore them.
